Busy Busy Busy

This week has been hectic, about 3 weeks ago I started receiving my own cases.. it started with 5... now I have 15 which is quite a lot to receive in such a short period of time. So far I've been servicing the Reno area but just yesterday I received my first Rural case. It's about 1.5 hours away in Fallon. That's 3 hours of driving and a hour or so home visit time... and I know it's just the beginning, since I was informed by my supervisor that I was the next to start receiving cases in the Rurals.

I'm welcoming the work since I do enjoy it immensely, working with children with disabilities is truly a rewarding profession. I never thought I would go into this field. Working with children from birth to three has been a challenge I never expected yet here I am. I get to work with an array of professionals (Speech and language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Nutritionist, Vision Specialist, Audiologist, Social Workers etc...) and with so many personalities. Not to mention the families.. it's always a challenge and it's always different.
I always thought I would work with older children with social issues but 2 years and 2 months later... I think this will be the career of choice. Everyone I come in contact with seems to feel that this profession would be a most difficult one but I guess "To one it's own".
